The Studio
Karl Stefan Andersson is a Stockholm-based graphic designer working across design, art, and publishing. His practice explores archives and publications, viewing them not just as storage for information, but as active tools for shaping collective memories and imagining new narratives.
Collaborating with artists, curators, and cultural institutions, Stefan focuses on books and publishing as fluid, performative, and relational practices. He emphasizes dialogue, experimentation, and openness, creating publications that serve as platforms for creative exchange and cultural dialogue.
Stefan’s work has received support through awards and grants from Swedish Book Art, the Swedish Arts Grants Committee, Längmanska Kulturfonden, and Helge Ax:son Johnsons Stiftelse. His current research and projects examine graphic design’s role in contemporary culture, particularly in its material, spatial, and conceptual aspects.
