The Studio
Karl Stefan Andersson is a Stockholm-based graphic designer whose work spans design, art, and publishing. Central to his practice is the exploration of publications and archives as agents for shaping collective memory and imagining alternative futures.
He collaborates with artists, curators, and cultural institutions to rethink books and publishing as dynamic frameworks for creative experimentation and cultural exchange. His projects — ranging from publications and exhibitions to hybrid formats — emphasize dialogue, process, and interpretation as essential components of cultural production.
Supported by awards and grants from Swedish Book Art, the Swedish Arts Grants Committee, Längmanska Kulturfonden, and Helge Ax:son Johnsons Stiftelse, his work investigates the role of graphic design in contemporary culture, with a focus on its material and conceptual dimensions.
